Considered “The symbol of the Andes” by ancient cultures, the Andean Condor is currently the largest flying bird of the world. Its wingspan can be more than 3.20 meters, and its weigh around 15 kilograms.
Having strictly carrion eating habits, it is considered very useful because it eliminates infectious foci by eating rotting carcasses. They can be seen majestically gliding on highs using hot ascending air currents.
Despite conservation efforts, they are frequently unintentionally poisoned with strychnine and other toxic products, so their future is uncertain.
